JEDI’s Fall 2021 Plenary: The 5% – Supporting the Indigenous Economy Through Procurement

Thu, December 2, 2021 (4:00 am - 9:30 am)EST

On December 2, 2021, the Joint Economic Development Initiative (JEDI) is hosting their Virtual Fall Plenary on The 5%: Supporting the Indigenous Economy Through Procurement. With the new developments from the Government of Canada, they are committing a minimum of 5% of their procurement to Indigenous businesses and employees. JEDI is offering this Plenary to any Indigenous business owner, non-Indigenous business employing Indigenous Peoples, and Indigenous contractors who are interested in learning how they can benefit from the procurement opportunity with the Government of Canada.

JEDI is excited to introduce Tabatha Bull, the CEO & President of the Canadian Council for Aboriginal Business (CCAB) as the Plenary’s Keynote Speaker. Tabatha will share her expertise on the benefits that the 5% procurement opportunity will have on our Indigenous economy and communities. Guests will also have the opportunity to hear from, and network with, a wide variety of subject matter experts educating guests on topics such as…

– The 5% procurement opportunity for Indigenous businesses and Indigenous employees/contractors
– Upcoming contracts that your organization can bid for and how to find them
– How to get ready – preparing your small business or startup for procurement contracts
– How to get started – participating in the bidding process
– And more!
